I would hope that if I ever become really super famous, I would still be a cool person. I would do the A-list movie, but I would also do the interesting Independent project.

I’m not super dedicated to the cerebral stuff like Joseph Gordon-Levitt seems to be — every single one of his Independent projects is something to make you think, or is there to wring your emotions — but I could see doing fun little movies or the kinds of movies that someone wouldn’t expect me to be in.

As an example, Tom Cruise’s cameo was something I really enjoyed in Tropic Thunder. Say what you will about the guy, he’s a really dedicated actor. I enjoy watching him on the screen — that smile! — and he has good taste in picking movies that suit his abilities. Even the ones that didn’t go big are ones that I’ve been entertained by.

I want to be like that. I want to appear in unexpected places and completely mess with peoples’ heads, but I want to be cool at the same time. I want to be big enough that I can say "I don’t even care" about my reputation and just do whatever project I please, even the stuff that doesn’t pay a whole lot of money at that moment.
